Development of the course

The course aims to prepare the student to formulate an individual plan of care, based on recognition of the basic needs of the person, the use of the Nursing Process and documentation of care.



Learning outcomes

The course aims to provide students with all the necessary elements for:

Apply the Nursing Process

Use planning tools and nursing dossier in relation to the conceptual model of reference

Consult / formulate and use a system of classification of nursing diagnoses, accurate, and reliable synthetic for individuals, families and communities

Develop a plan of care starting from the needs identified through the process and diagnostic reasoning and the use of targets and interventions.



Program

After completing this module the student must be able to know and then describe and discuss the following topics:

The basic stages of evolution of nursing knowledge and philosophy of nursing;

The discipline of nursing: general criteria to define it;

Theories of the needs, problems and needs for nursing care;

The concepts of the meta-paradigm of nursing: man, health / illness, nursing, environment;

The concept of theory and model of care;

The main theories / models of nursing;

Critical thinking, problem solving and decision making;

Nursing process: definition, meaning and stages;

Classification systems: Nanda, NIC and NOC;

Tools for planning and documentation of care: nursing dossier, ministerial recommendations, protocols, procedures, guidelines, care profiles.

 

Also for educational purposes will be carried out group work or individual on individual care plans.



Development of the examination

Written and oral examination.
