Development of the course

The programme aims to promote advanced knowledge and understanding of medical law and ethics. The content spans foundational issues in medical law, such as consent, legislation.

The programme aims to promote advanced knowledge and understanding of medical law and ethics. The content spans foundational issues in medical law, such as consent, negligence and confidentiality, legislation. Having studied the programme, students will emerge with an understanding of medico-legal issues not just in the legal context, but with a sound grounding in ethics, social and theoretical contexts.



Program

Informed consents. Medical secrecy. Crime and injury offence. Medical-legal study of crimes against sexual freedom. Toxicology. Concept and classification. Concept of toxicity. Factors influencing toxicity.

Mechanisms of toxic action. Collection, delivery and preservation of samples. Basic processes of toxicological research. Ethyl alcohol. Drug abuse. Drug-addiction. Natural death and violent death. Juridical-criminal classification of violent death. Causes, mechanisms and circumstances of deathDomestic violence. Injuries and death caused by children abuse.



Development of the examination

Full attendance is expected throughout the programme and is a pre-requisite for exam. Exam include theory test.
