The course consists of 24 hours of lectures during which the purpose of the teacher is to provide the basis to recognize and estimate the risks of deterioration in functional status, rehabilitation needs and potential recovery of patients from acute and chronic diseases, differentiating the specific issues in the light of the WHO international classification of functioning (ICF) .

General concepts about rehabilitation : WHO-ICF. Meaning and Objectives of rehabilitation. The role of the nurse in rehabilitation team, communication. The outcome measures in rehabilitation: measures of impairment, disability , participation and quality of life. Consequences of deconditioning and immobility : the principles of tertiary prevention . Mobilization patients and joint protection .
The interdisciplinary rehabilitation management of stroke patient in the acute and post-acute phase. The interdisciplinary rehabilitation management of subject with spinal cord injury and severe brain injury. The rehabilitation management of subject with progressive neurological disease ( Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases). The rehabilitation management of subject with orthopedic disorders, cardiovascular and pneumologic disease. The rehabilitative management of elderly hospitalised patients. Principles of aerobic reconditioning. The organization of the rehabilitation setting.
