pathology, general and specialized, emergency medicine. Knowledge and basic skills in the care of the
patient through the nursing process methodology, using problem-solving skills to identify

At the end of the course the student will be able to:
Describe the concepts of: critical area, organizational aspect;
Describe the key elements on the current legislation in Italy relating to the Emergency Medical System;
Describe the organization of the system 118, the Department of Emergency and Intensive Care;
Describe the concepts and steps of the chain of emergency;
Describe and use the CABDE method, approach the person in critical condition;
Describe the priorities in critical care of the person;
Describe the main systems of monitoring of vital signs;
Planning patient care in critical condition;
Describe the characteristics of the communication / report an emergency with the patient, family and the
team;
Describe the nursing implications related to the removal and transplantation of organs and tissues.

General concepts of monitoring respiratory, circulatory, neurological, renal, body temperature, pain.

The brain death, management, education and assistance to potential donors.
Planning clinical-care user in invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, Cpap , multiple trauma, acute myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism.
The examination consists of a written/oral test cases of assistance in the management of critically ill patients
in emergency / urgency within the inside the hospital.
