Modalità di svolgimento del corso

Nursing in the critical area is a form by which the student nurses acquire the professional skills needed in the critical areas through the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the patient critical in each place, territory and hospital, and in any space-time , from event at discharge or death.

The course aims to provide guidance with respect to comprehensive care strategies, continuous, timely and quality in response to the needs / problems or potential problems that may occur to the person being cared for, family or community.

In the end of course the students will be able to:

• Observe and understand  the critical patient's needs
• Protect the recover, support of the vital capacities from the critical instant  since to stabilization
• Accompany the patient and your family in all assistance path
• Operate in integrate mode
• Assistance the patient with fast, precision, decision and efficence

 

Programma

• Concepts of emergency, urgent care and the critical patient; the concept of the critical area.
• Describing the emergency system network. Safety standards in emergency. Relationships with the competent bodies.
• Triage in environments inside and outside hospitals: outline of the See and Treat and Fast-track.
• Analysing the role of the nurse and medication management for urgent care. The Emergency trolley.
• Evaluating and treating the patient in the critical area according to the ABCDE methodology.
• Invasive and non-invasive monitoring (eg CVP, Swan-Ganz, ABG from an arterial cannula, etc.).
• Planning care for adult and pediatric patients with acute cardiac, respiratory and neurological system pathologies.
• Managing the patient during cardiac arrest.
• Caring for the patient on mechanical ventilation.
• Caring for the patient in a coma.
• Caring for the patient with major trauma.
• Defining the transport and positioning of the critical patient.
• Managing first aid: burns, minor trauma, accidental poisoning, electrocution.
• Childbirth in emergency conditions.
• Clinical pathways in emergency conditions.
• Managing the relationship with the critically ill patient and his family (information and consent).
• Managing of mass casualty incidents inside and outside the hospital.
• The donation of organs and tissues. Planning patient care with organ transplants
