Prerequisites
Concepts of general physics and in particular the physical phenomena underlying diagnostic imaging.
Development of the course
The course aims to provide basic knowledge of the mechanisms of interaction of radiation with living matter and possible damage (somatic and genetic effects) from those induced in various organs and systems.
The course will also dealt with the legal regulations governing the use of ionizing radiation and health physics and medical surveillance of radiation protection.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to know:
{ the different mechanisms of interaction of radiation with living matter
{ possible damage (somatic and genetic effects) induced by ionizing radiation in the various organs and systems
{ the applicable standards governing the use of ionizing radiation and health physics and medical surveillance of radiation protection
Program
Medical physics, radiobiology, ionizing radiations, subcellular radiobioloy, radiation cell damage, reparable damage, intrinsic radiosensitivity, oxygen effect, radiation pathology, diagnostic radiology, fractionated radiation, protracted radiation, radiation protection.
Development of the examination
oral test or quiz
