Development of the course
The course aims at providing students with adequate knowledge of medical statistics, so that statistical methodology results a research tool and individual updating. The contents of the course concern (i) the methods to organize and synthesize a collection of data from a process of care and dental hygiene, and (ii) the methodology needed to put clinical questions and attain evidences of efficacy of dental hygiene treatments .
Learning outcomes
The student at the end of the course must have acquired adequate knowledge of the basic methodologies of Medical Statistics in order to
- know how to organize and analyze data related to biomedical phenomena including the use of statistical software;
- able to read and interpret the results of statistical analyzes in the medical literature;
- be able to perform simple data processing and obtain a correct interpretation of the results of clinical trials.
Program
