Prerequisites
Notions of physics of ionizing radiation (especially at the base of mammography), ultrasound, and magnetic fields. Elements of human anatomy.
Development of the course
The course aims to present the technical principles and the proper methods of tests currently used in breast imaging, particularly mammography and other breast imaging modalities (U.S. and MRM) and their application in clinical practice
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will have acquired the technical principles and proper methods for performing a mammography and MRM and its quality control.
Program
Breast Anatomy and Pathology. Introduction breast imaging.
Analog Mammography - Mammography Digital. Methodology of mammography standards and technical variations. Criteria of the implementation of mammography. Other breast imaging techniques (U.S. and MRI) and interventional radiology breast. Screening mammography and clinical mammography. Future technological developments.
