the main techniques of digital images elaboration (MPR, MIP, MinIP, VR, SSD, VE): the rationale and applications. From convention archive towards RIS/PACS: history, advantages, disadvantages, break even analysis, future outlooks; DICOM: history, present situation and future outlooks; Open-source software in radiology: some practical esamples; Disaster ricovery in radiology; Teleradiology: advantages and disadvantages; The “Bologna” case report.
