Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of mathematics and physics.

Development of the course

The aim of the course to introduce the basics of radiology through the principles of radiation physics, the interact with matter and methods of production and detection X-Rays. It also aims to introduce the concept of quality and how to verify the quality level of conventional X-Rays medical devices imaging by providing a description of the equipment.

Learning outcomes

Acquisition of basic knowledge of the physical principles of image formation as a function of analogue and digital, expecially, X-ray technologies. Knowledge of different technologies.

Learning of the basic methods for evaluating X-ray equipment performance and for the optimization of the examination in terms of image quality and patient dose.
