Development of the course
The course aims at providing students with adequate knowledge of medical statistics, so that statistical methodology results a research tool and individual updating. The contents of the course concern (i) methods to organize and summarize a collection of data from studies on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the stomatognathic apparatus, and (ii) the statistical methodology needed to put clinical questions and attain evidences of efficacy of dental treatments .

Learning outcomes

The student at the end of the course must have acquired adequate knowledge of the basic methodologies of Medical Statistics in order to

-          know how to organize and analyze data related to biomedical phenomena including the use of statistical software;

-          able to read and interpret the results of statistical analyzes in the medical literature;

-         be able to perform simple data processing and obtain a correct interpretation of the results of clinical trials.
