Development of the course
The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the diagnosis and treatment of the urinary tract diseases and principles of nursing care to the urological patient.

Learning outcomes
The student will understand the principles of the work-up and treatment of urological diseases and related nursing.

Program
Anatomy and physiology of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Voiding disorders: prostatic hypertrophy, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder. Bladder catheterization. Urinary tract infections. Renal, bladder, prostate and testis neoplasms: diagnosis, surgical treatment and nursing; urinary lithiasis, hydronephrosis and renal colic: diagnosis, surgical treatment and nursing care. Diagnostic and therapeutic indications  to major urological instrumental studies: urodynamics, cystoscopy, endoscopical procedures.
