Prerequisites

Basic training. Concepts of discipline, definition of: law and ethics.

Development of the course
The course provides students, through the identification of the characteristics of the nursing profession, a global learning and preparation for other basic sciences.

Learning outcomes
 Identify the characteristics of the nursing profession. Know the regulatory environment and ethics regarding the nursing profession. Knowing the historical evolution of the nursing profession and the process of professionalization of nurses in Italy. Analyze the concept of health in a multi-dimensional correlated to the socio-economic-political. Identify roles and responsibilities of nursing in the health system. Development of knowledge and skills in communication and interpersonal nurse-patient relationship.

National and International History assistance, from its origins to the present with particular reference to university courses. Statement of professional interest (DM 739/94, L. 42 of 26/2/99, L.251/2000, L.n.dd 1 01/08/2002). The professional associations: the College, the Associations.
Article 32 of the Italian Constitution and evolution of the concept of Health / Illness.
The specificity of the nursing profession: the Nurses Professional Profile: analysis of the role and functions Nurse Ethics / Bioethics. Professional ethics and Code of Practice Nurses.
Concept of responsibility and autonomous. The therapeutic relationship and the helping relationship (communication and interventions to foster communication).
Factors influencing the spiritual well-being, the meaning of suffering, sickness, death, reactions to suffering, implications for nursing care.
Acceptance of the person in hospital: hospitalization and emergency assistance.
Nursing responsibilities during the medical examination.
