Understand the concepts of general pharmacology in preparation for safe administration
• Know the responsibilities of the nurse in the process of drug therapy and transfusion and infusion of blood components
• Manage the process of drug therapy
• Manage the administration of drugs through the streets commonly used
• Possess math skills needed for the assay of drug therapy
• Know the general principles of venipuncture
• Know the basics of pre-and post-operative
The basics on how to request drugs, inventory management and storage of drugs.
• Administer drugs: legal and ethical, safe management of medicines.
• Responsibility-management policies of the prescription-monitoring-evaluation of the person administering the side effects.
• Understanding the management of narcotic drugs.
• Manage the oral therapy, treatment intramuscularly, subcutaneously (insulin therapy and anticoagulant therapy), intradermal, intravenous.
• Manage the infusion therapy.
• Manage the treatment rectally, topically, inhaled oxygen by catheter, goggles, mask, through centralized delivery systems and oxygen concentrators for home use.
• Perform blood collection: legislative references, reference values and diagnostic significance, types of examinations.
• Sampling of biological excretions and secretions.
• Know the law relating to blood and blood products.
• Manage the person transfused and monitoring of therapy.
