Learning outcomes
  • Knowledge

The teaching allows students to acquire advanced knowledge in the analysis of problems occurring in Applied Physics and Sanitary Engineering Environmental sector. This knowledge will integrate notions acquired in Industrial Plants by enriching knowledge in the Science in Environmental and Work Place Prevention. The student will acquire a clear knowledge of the multidisciplinary engineering context with references to aspects of Applied Physics and Environmental Sanitary Engineering.

  • Ability to apply knowledge

In order to address the issues related to the course of Science in Environmental and Work Place Prevention and to treat innovation and development through the application of knowledge, the student must be able to interpret and analyze: the hygrothermal comfort  in the environments, the acoustics in confined spaces and in open field, the lighting system, the main plant units and processes for wastewater and liquid wastes treatment with the identification of the main risk points.

  • Transversal skills

The ability to interface with real examples of acoustic comfort, air-conditioning along with thermohygrometric and visual wellness, real processes for wastewater and liquid  wastes treatment will contribute to increase by the student both the level of autonomous judgement and of communication and learning capacity and of conclusions drawn.

Thermal hygrometry in the human buildings:

Calculation of thermal requirement in human buildings, hygrometric  questions in human buildings.

Applied Acoustics:

Introduction (fundamental acoustic quantities, acoustic spectrum analysis, spectrum response of human hear and loudness, criterions of sound and noise valutation), propagation and transmission of sound wave, acoustic absorption and soundproofing, closed-field propagation.

Lighting Engineering:

Photometry, Lighting production and control systems, methods of calculation for inner lighting, day-lighting, teaching  laboratory.

General regulation, chemical / physical characterization of wastewater and liquid wastes, pumping station, pretreatments (degritting and desanding), sedimentation, biological active sludge, disinfection, sludge line, odorous units.

To successfully pass the exam, the student must demonstrate the understood of the main concepts of the course

Marks from 18 to 30 cum laude; sufficient (passed) level at 18/30

  • Final Mark Allocation Criteria

Achievement of sufficient level the specific learning evaluation criteria.  Laude is reserved for students who have completed the test in correct and complete way and shown particular brilliance in oral exposure.
